Help promote guiding in your area

If you’re a news junkie, an aspiring campaigner, a social media addict or a design or photography whizz, you could help us raise the profile of Scottish guiding.

Public Relations Advisers (PRAs) get out there and champion great communications in their guiding county.

They gather stories, quotes and photos and share them on digital channels and through the media.

They make sure that they and Girlguiding Scotland are in the loop about any local activities that have publicity potential.

They make sure everyone uses the Girlguiding Scotland brand and messages, so we speak with one voice. And they play a key role in promoting Girlguiding Scotland and Girlguiding publicity initiatives at a local level.

Find out more about the role in Girlguiding Scotland’s PRA remit.

PRAs are chosen by the county commissioner. There may also be room to support an existing PRA with complementary skills or extra capacity. If you’d like to find out more, contact your local commissioner to explore what opportunities might be available.

Sound like a lot to take on? You’ll be supported every step of the way with regular training and free guidelines. And Girlguiding Scotland’s Marketing and Communications Team is always available for advice or a chat – contact us as we’d love to hear from you!
