Guide and Ranger units who meet in areas of deprivation can apply for up to £2000 to help with ongoing meeting costs and the cost of equipment and experiences to build skills and confidence. Units who take part in Generation CashBack will also receive leadership activities and opportunities for the young members in their units, as well as capacity building support for volunteers.
New and re-opening units can apply for up to £250 to help cover start-up costs for essential items, such as first aid kits and sports equipment.
Units, districts and divisions can apply for up to £500 to cover up to 3 categories of items to help deliver good guiding whatever that looks like in your area.
Some Girlguiding Scotland counties have their own funding available, such as to cover subscriptions for young members from deprived areas or to put on outdoor events. Ask your commissioner if there’s any funding available in your area and they’ll be able to advise you.
Units that have been open for 1 year or more, and have been affected by natural disasters, financial difficulties or are in a deprived area, can apply for up to £250.
Available to young members and volunteers with additional needs, or for units and individuals to support those with additional needs. The fund has no upper limit and will depend on the application, which can cover a range of additional needs.
Leaders who are working towards the travelling abroad module of the going away with scheme can apply for £100 or £200 to help cover their individual costs.
New and re-opening units can apply for up to £40, choosing from a list of start-up materials such as badge books and Queens Guide Award record books.
Units can apply for £100 per young member who has come from Ukraine and has been affected by the war. This can cover things such as uniform and subscriptions. The website page also has translated documents for young members, volunteers, and parents/carers.
