Although we’re not meeting face to face at the moment, there’s still lots of guiding fun to be had ‘at hame’. So without further ado we’d like to introduce the brand new Guiding at Hame Challenge – inspired by our super-selection of Girlguiding Scotland activity packs and the 6 programme themes!
How to play
Calling all volunteers, parents, carers and girls of all ages – our 4 new challenge grids below are packed full of fun-filled activities! All you have to do is see how many you can cross off in order to earn your very own #GuidingAtHame badge.
The badge will be launching soon so keep your eyes peeled for that! Here’s how to earn it:
Rainbows (age 5-7) complete one activity each week plus 2 activities from any week (6 in total)
Brownies (age 7-10) complete two activities each week (8 in total)
Guides and Rangers (10-18) complete two activities each week plus any 2 activities from any week (10 in total)
Adults can take part too! Can you complete 3 activities each week? (12 in total)
Anyone can join in!
Whether you’re a volunteer running online meetings or a parent/carer who’s keen to find new ways to keep kids entertained, the Guiding at Hame Challenge is open to everyone! Week 1, 2 and 3 are still available below and now you can download the fourth and final week…
Check out our Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and Week 4 help sheets, print-friendly versions of the challenge with more information on how to take part. Don’t forget to tag us in your pics and vids on Twitter and Facebook using #GuidingAtHame so we can see how you’re getting on!
The new Guiding At Hame badge is available to order now
Anyone can buy it and it will be read for dispatch from mid-end of June 2020. Check it out!
Note to parents
The activities that we’ve launched on the Guiding at Hame Hub have been tailored in a way that allows young people to maintain current social distancing rules when taking part. Our aim is to help keep families across Scotland entertained during these uncertain times. This challenge is suitable for all young people, girls and boys – and you don’t need to be a member to take part!
This is our way of giving everyone a taste of what’s on offer here at Girlguiding Scotland. Research shows that girls involved with Girlguiding develop greater resilience to life’s challenges. If you’re interested in registering your daughter or becoming a volunteer, find out more about getting involved in the fun!
