Existing volunteers compliance

In order to ensure that we retain leaders, it’s really important to have good processes in place for compliance with PVG and ‘A Safe Space’ training requirements.

At Girlguiding Scotland we have developed new processes to help with this, including alerting county commissioners earlier of volunteers who may become non-compliant. However, it’s always best to try and stop this from happening in the first place by actively managing compliance on an ongoing basis.

We have developed some suggested processes to help you with this which can be tailored to meet your county’s requirements:

Please note that Girlguiding will remove volunteers’ membership if requirements of PVG and ‘A Safe Space’ are not adhered to.

  • You can find the suggested processes here.
  • You can find vetting information, including about your members turning 18 here.

If you have any questions about compliance with PVG or ‘A Safe Space’ please get in touch on governance@girlguiding-scot.org.uk.
