Young Leader Event 2022
Young leaders (or girls aged 14-18 thinking about becoming young leaders) are invited to attend this exciting virtual event supported by Generation CashBack!
This is a great chance to meet other young members online from across Scotland who are working on or about to start their Young Leader Qualification. Girls will learn skills which will help them sign off sections of their qualification and boost their CVs in the process.
About this Event
You’ll explore the Young Leader Qualification in more detail and sign off some sections, returning to your unit with a clear idea of what you need to do to finish it. The aim is to help you develop your leadership skills, boost your confidence when it comes to volunteering, provide tools you can use with your unit, and to assist you in gaining a qualification that looks great on your CV!
The event will take place on Zoom. It’ll start on Friday 4 March 2022 from 7:15pm to 9pm and continue Saturday 5 March from 9.45am – 4pm.
How to sign up
You will need to be a young leader who is currently volunteering with a Rainbow, Brownie or Guide unit, and working on (or about to start) your Young Leader Qualification.
We’ll do our best to include all girls who are interested but as this event is supported by Generation Cashback, if there is high demand, priority will be given to girls from units that meet any one of the following criteria:
- Units that are currently receiving Generation CashBack support or
- Units that have received Generation CashBack support previously or
- Units that meet in communities that have been impacted by crime or antisocial behaviour or
- Units that are supporting girls whose families struggling with the financial impacts of Covid-19

If you’re interested in this event but are unsure whether your unit will be considered priority, please send your name, home postcode, Ranger unit name (if you’re part of one) and the name of the unit you are a Young Leader with to Andrea@girlguiding-scot.org.uk to check.
The deadline for registrations is 5pm on 21 February 2022 although booking may close early if there is high demand. Once you have been allocated a space, you will receive a consent form which must be returned in advance of the event.
