Camp CEO is an opportunity for 60 Girlguiding Scotland members aged between 14 and 18 years old to engage with CEOs and industry leaders from across a range of sectors. Taking place in rural Perthshire, Rangers and young leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities to explore their interests and support them to develop skills as they are beginning to think about their own careers. We’re pleased to announce that this year we’re working in partnership with Scottish Power, who are sponsoring the event.

Being a CEO might not be your dream job, but Camp CEO can help you develop the skills you need to get where you’re going! 

We want to help you develop skills that will get you through exams, starting college or university, and into your first job. To be the leader we know you can be, and to know that you don’t have to follow the same path as everyone else. 

Camp CEO is a fully funded indoor residential event which will take place in rural Perthshire, in a venue accessible by public transport. Reasonable travel costs to and from the event will be covered, and accommodation and meals for the duration of the event will be provided. 

There will be lots of support available and you’ll have the opportunity to make friends from across Scotland! 

We’re running an application process as we don’t have space for everyone, but don’t let that put you off applying and we’d love to hear from you. 

Please note this opportunity is only for Girlguiding Scotland members aged 14 – 18 who are able to attend the full event. You must be 14 or over by 31 July 2024 and under 19 until 5 August 2024. The opportunity is not just for Rangers or young leaders, so older Guides who are 14 by 31 July 2024 can apply. We’ll also be hosting a reunion event in the autumn that we’re hoping as many participants as possible are able to join, but we will provide full details of that in due course.

Applications have been extended and now close at midnight on Sunday 14 April 2024. We will contact all applicants with a decision in late April. 

As well as your application, we will need a reference from an adult in Girlguiding who knows you well. For example, your unit leader or a district commissioner. Please make sure your referee has completed the reference form linked below by midnight on Wednesday 17 April 2024. If we do not have a reference for you, your application will not be considered.

If you are a leader or commissioner who knows a young person who would benefit from this opportunity, please use the form below to nominate them. When we receive a nomination, we will email the young person and let them know someone thinks they should apply, but the nominator will remain anonymous.

Nominations will close at midnight on Sunday 31 March 2024 to allow time for nominated candidates to apply. 

To deliver Camp CEO, we need a team of volunteers to help us cover a range of roles. Volunteers will work alongside the lead volunteers before the event to help prepare and then carry out their role across the 4-day, 3-night event from 1 – 4 August 2024. We’ll also be hosting a reunion event in the autumn that we’re hoping as many volunteers as possible are able to join, but we will provide full details of that in due course. 

The roles we are looking to fill are: 

• 2 house and wellbeing leaders 
• 6 group leaders 
• 2 first aiders 
• 1 communications and PR
