Complaints and safeguarding concerns

It is important to ensure a system is in place to deal with complaints and safeguarding concerns and refer them to the appropriate level in Girlguiding, as required.

This can be a difficult part of being a volunteer but by adhering to the following policies, procedures, and guidance volunteers can ensure they are doing their best for all members.

• Girlguiding A Safe Space pocket guide: A brief guide about what to do if you have a concern about a girl, young women, or adult member within Girlguiding
• Girlguiding A Safe Space training: This page of the website has all of the information about A Safe Space training and the requirements for different roles
• OSCR guidance on notifiable events: This guide produced by OSCR covers what constitutes a notifiable event and how to report them. If you feel that you need to report a notifiable event to OSCR please contact the Girlguiding Scotland governance team first on governance@girlguiding-scot.org.uk
