Take the next step in your volunteering journey
Do you want the chance to influence and inspire thousands of members across Scotland? We’ve got a range of exciting opportunities for you to explore.
Could you become a Girlguiding trainer?
Girlguiding Scotland trainers are inspiring, qualified volunteers who train other volunteers in the key skills to deliver great unit meetings. You could also choose to be a trainer in a specialist subject such as first aid, water activities or fundraising. Our dedicated Girlguiding Scotland training team is on hand to support trainers all along the way, from qualifying through to delivering sessions.
Showcase the skills you’ve developed through guiding
Your role with Girluiding can show potential employers that there’s more to you than your qualifications. It can help you demonstrate project or event management experience, leadership skills or useful transferable skills such as public speaking.
Recognition for our outstanding volunteers
Girlguiding awards recognise members and volunteers for excellent or a longstanding service.
If you’d like to book a training session on any topic then please contact the development coordinator for your county, who will work with the Scottish Training team to organise it.
Have an impact in your area. Commissioners are team leaders who play a vital role overseeing the volunteers in their area. They help guiding in their area to thrive. They do this by supporting other volunteers day-to-day as well as driving forward a long-term vision for their area.
If you have the skills and experience to help steer Girlguiding Scotland to achieve our vision and mission, then becoming one of our trustees could be for you.
There are also opportunities to make guiding happen at your local level. You could volunteer as a local commissioner to run your local area or for an adviser role, providing specialist skills on anything from public relations to walking or the arts. Or you could head up a whole section like Brownies or Rainbows. Contact your local district, division or county commissioner to find out what opportunities are available.
