Are you interested in being part of the team that supports our local commissioners to succeed? We are looking for 3 new volunteers to drive forward our local commissioner support programme over the next 18 months from April 2026 to November 2027.
Commissioners play a vital role overseeing the volunteers in their area and we want all commissioners to enjoy their role and find it rewarding.
These roles are all about giving our district and division commissioners the support they need to thrive – welcoming new commissioners, coordinating engaging inductions, building peer support connections and helping shape the training and resources they rely on. They’ll also work closely with counties to understand local needs, support recruitment into commissioner roles, and build practical, accessible tools that strengthen commissioner teams across Scotland.
We expect the team of 3 to divide out tasks, each taking on one of the following areas of responsibility. We will discuss this with the team in place and there is opportunity for flexibility based on interests and previous experiences.
For each member of the team, we are looking for you to:
Experience in a commissioner or trainer role at Girlguiding would be an advantage but not essential. It’s most important that you’re passionate about the importance of supporting commissioners and want to be part of a team to make this hap
