Appointments committee member

We are looking for a member to join our appointments committee! The appointments committee is responsible for setting and leading on recruitment processes for trustees and other key Scottish level volunteers, and ensuring processes are in place for the induction, development and reviewing the performance of senior volunteers.

Consultative Group member

We are looking for 2 members aged 18-30 to join our consultative group! The consultative group plays an important role in our governance, representing the views of the membership when there are significant decisions to be made by our trustees.

Scottish Youth Parliament volunteer support worker

Are you passionate about youth voice? As the Support Worker for our Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYPs), you will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support Girlguiding Scotland’s 2 elected MSYPs as they make their voices heard.

Training

Girlguiding Scotland trainers are inspiring, qualified volunteers who train other volunteers in the key skills to deliver great unit meetings. You could also choose to be a trainer in a specialist subject such as first aid, water activities or fundraising.

Our dedicated Girlguiding Scotland training team is on hand to support trainers all along the way, from qualifying through to delivering sessions.

 

Organise local training

If you’d like to book a training session on any topic then please contact the development coordinator for your county, who will work with the Scottish Training team to organise it.

Your role with Girluiding can show potential employers that there’s more to you than your qualifications. It can help you demonstrate project or event management experience, leadership skills or useful transferable skills such as public speaking.

There are also opportunities to make guiding happen at your local level. You could volunteer as a local commissioner to run your local area or for an adviser role, providing specialist skills on anything from public relations to walking or the arts.
