Our people

Girlguiding Scotland is made up of a small team of staff working in partnership with volunteers to deliver guiding to our 40,000 members and 9,000 volunteers across Scotland. Alison supports the Scottish chief commissioner and her team. She is also vice chair of the appointments committee, and focusses on environmental issues, and equity, diversity and inclusion.

Sarah supports the Scottish chief commissioner, along with the rest of the chief commissioner team and is the chair of the operational board. She is also a trustee.

Elaine is the lead volunteer for Scotland with overall responsibility for making sure we continue to inspire girls across the country. Elaine also chairs the trustee board, and the appointments committee.

Lyndsay supports the Scottish chief commissioner, and her team. Lyndsay is chair of the county support team, supporting volunteers with issues regarding safeguarding, concerns, compliance and equity, diversity and inclusion.

Carol oversees the work of the awards committee, who consider nominations for the Scottish Chief Commissioner's award, and the Scottish Chief Commissioner's Thistle award as well as Laurel and Silver Fish awards.

Alison is chair of the business management and finance committee, who are responsible for reviewing the organisation's financial management and strategy, as well as retail, IT and HR. She is also a trustee.

Kate is one of our 18-30 trustees. Our trustees are responsible for making decisions about the organisation's budget, operations and strategy. She is a unit leader and brings professional experience in financial and risk management.

Lisbeth is the honorary treasurer, providing support and advice on a range of issues relating to finance, to the business management and finance committee, and as a member of the trustee board.

As an external trustee, Susan brings experience as a chief executive within the third sector. She has also worked extensively with young people, encouraging youth voice and participation.

Louise is a member trustee, she brings experience in guiding as a previous county commissioner. Our trustees are responsible for making decisions about the organisation's budget, operations and strategy.

Evelyn's expertise is in guiding, she's been an assistant county commissioner and a Brownie leader for 35 years. Out trustees are responsible for making decisions about the organisation's budget, operations and strategy.

Jill has held roles as district, division and county commissioner as well as being a unit leader for over 20 years. Our trustees are responsible for making decisions about the organisation's budget, operations and strategy.

Milly has been has held leadership roles in guiding for 20 years and has been a a district and division commissioner. She brings third sector experience in staff and volunteer recruitment to our trustee board.

Erin is one of our 18-30 trustees. Our trustees are responsible for making decisions about the organisation's budget, operations and strategy. She has been a member since Rainbows, and, for the past 5 years, has been in leadership roles.

Katie makes sure that girls' voices are at the heart of everything we do. As a member of the operational board she helps make decisions on the work that the organisation will deliver.

Emily leads on delivering our youth advocacy programme, Speak Out, and supports our representatives elected to the Scottish Youth Parliament. She also leads on policy positions, consultation responses, and research.

Works to ensure volunteers have a positive experience. She leads on supporting trainers and volunteer learning and development. She works in partnership with our lead volunteer for volunteer experience.

Christine works across 2 teams, assisting finance with processing expenses, grant payments and credit control, and in our retail team managing stock control for the shop and online store.

Carol looks after payroll, pension schemes, processes supplier and grant payments and ensures accounting transactions and monthly reconciliations are processed accurately. She also supports FOGGS.

Stephanie provides support to our members across the counties, embedding best practice and complying with relevant guiding policies and external legislation. She also supports work of our internal governance committees.

Erin works to support the Girlguiding Scotland governance structure and to help make sure that the organisation fulfils its charitable obligations. Erin also provides support to the Scottish chief commissioner team.

Tori supports on the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative projects. She primarily works on the Transformational Leadership Project, alongside exploring new approaches, including co-production.

Ali works with volunteers across Scotland to create and deliver personalised volunteer recruitment and welcome plans. She promotes guiding to potential volunteers and builds relationships with external organisations.

Ash gives admin support for the membership development and growth team, supporting grant-giving, development work and volunteer welcome sessions. They’re also the first point of contact for new member enquiries.

Anna delivers the Generation CashBack project, supporting and visiting Guide and Ranger units in areas with less opportunities to increase capacity, offer a wider range of experiences and run leadership skills sessions.

Rachel plans and delivers large scale events and exciting challenge packs. She supports international, DofE and peer education. She works in partnership with our lead volunteer for girl experience and volunteer project teams.

Sarah creates content for, and manages, our website, social media and e-newsletters. She also visits units and events taking pictures, filming, and collecting stories. She works in partnership with our lead volunteer for PRAs.

Cat oversees the work of the governance and compliance team, whose responsibilities include Scottish level and county governance, compliance with Girlguiding policy and legislation, HR and IT.

Leads the staff team who work with around 100 volunteers at Scottish level to deliver support and opportunities for members. Denise works closely with the chief commissioner team to celebrate all guiding has to offer in Scotland.
