Start your leadership journey today!

Are you a Rangers member aged 14-18 and keen to work on your leadership skills? Then get started on your young leader development programme and take an active part in running a Rainbow, Brownie or Guide unit.

It’s a great way to boost your CV and build on your communication skills while helping your local unit leadership team.

What’s next?

There are 12 modules to work through in any order, they can be completed at the same time as volunteering with a unit.

  • Connecting your community – step outside of your unit, be part of your local community and meet other Girlguiding members.
  • Delivering activities – lead a variety of games, unit meeting activities, skills builders and activities beyond our programme, and bring Girlguiding to life.
  • Finding solutions – look at how yo can spot a problem and solve them like a pro!
  • Getting out and about – help to plan and go on some amazing adventures with your unit.
  • Giving girls a voice – lift up girls’ voices and help them be heard so they can have a say in what they do in guiding.
  • Looking after you – take care of your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others in your unit and set goals for your future self.

 

 

  • Keeping it kind – find out different ways you can deal with tricky behaviour and encourage positive behaviour in your unit.
  • Knowing Girlguiding – explore Girlguiding’s story and traditions and celebrate being part of a global movement.
  • Planning your activities – discover how to plan amazing activities for your unit.
  • Running activities safely – make sure you can safely run the activities your unit wants, through planning and responding to risks as they happen.
  • Supporting inclusive spaces – how you can make sure your unit is a place where everyone feels welcome and can join in.
  • Working with others – explore how you and the other amazing volunteer in your unit can work together to be a dream team.
