What, when, where and who for!
- What? An opportunity to learn the basics for taking your young members away on adventures, you don’t need to have any prior knowledge
- When? Tuesday, 16 September 7.30-9pm
- Where? Virtually by Zoom
- Who is it for? This would benefit any volunteer who is thinking about taking their girls away for the first time

In this session you will:
- Get an overview of the current Going Away With scheme/qualification
- Learn how to plan an overnight event, including the REN timescales, risk assessments and other necessary paperwork
- Explore how to build your team, delegate responsibilities and determine what qualification are required
- Consider how and when to communicate with parents—ensuring your messaging is inclusive and budgeting is clearly explained
This session is the first of series of sessions to support volunteers taking young members away, the others will include:
- Going away for a weekend (indoors)
- Catering for a large group
- Going camping
You can choose to attend all of them or one that you feel would be most useful.
