Thank you Emma and Shannon for all your hard work on the accommodation offer for Amsterdam Adventure! I’m delighted that we were able to offer this support to groups going away internationally for the first time. Your calm, sensible and proactive approach to the event was brilliant and I know the volunteers really appreciated your time and efforts 😊

Rachel

Thank you Pam and Lauren for all your hard work on Amsterdam Adventure! I know it’s a big ask to take on a project like this around busy personal lives, but you smashed it out the park and gave 650 members an experience to remember 😊

Rachel

Thank you to Heather, Jillian, Susan and Lucy from 6th Blantyre Guides for giving me such a friendly welcome to your Guide unit and helping me tidy up the muddy chaos!

Anna

I would like to thank Verity- Scottish lead volunteer for archives and Morven, coordinator of the network for county archivists. Their volunteering is ‘behind the scenes’ as they look after the national collection which celebrates our heritage and make links between all the counties who are curating collections of precious memories of guiding experiences for previous generations. Thank you for all that you do !

Denise

I would like to thank the Scottish Trefoil Guild for the support they give to guiding all over the country. A quiet word of encouragement as well as practical help at events and activities- I want to say thank you for quietly advising us, providing help when we ask for it and sharing your experiences and skills to help show the next generation of girls what great fun guiding can be x

Denise Spence CEO Girlguiding Scotland

We would like to thank Susan who is the depot ambassador for Scotland who is so positive about all that these shops – powered by volunteers – give to their local areas. We would also like to thank the dedicated team of regular volunteers who help at the shop in Edinburgh – we are grateful for your time and talents in talking to customers !

I would like to thank the volunteer team at 8th Perth Brownies for being so welcoming since I started out as a volunteer. I have really enjoyed my time with the unit so far, playing lots of fun games, taking part in crafts and working towards the construction badge. It is such a brilliant unit to be a part of.

Alison I Thank you for listening and encouraging my ideas !

Fay

Thanks to all the volunteers at the 4th & 156th Edinburgh Rainbow, Brownie, Guide & Ranger units who provide amazing creative and fun activities to over 175 girls every week. Many of the volunteers cover more than one unit on a regular basis and are always there to help out the others units when need be! You are all truly inspirational!

Susan, Edinburgh

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteer Lynda Short for her amazing work behind the scenes! From creating eye-catching social media posts to writing exciting and engaging press releases making local guiding much more visible — your creativity and dedication is truly fabulous!

Your passion helps us shine bright, and I am so grateful to have you as part of Dunbartonshire’s Comms team!

Pic of Lynda celebrating how Girlguiding often puts us in bizarre and funny situations.

Janice Blair, Dunbartonshire

Thanks to Elaine who works so hard to prepare the crafts every week. But even more for her quiet observations on the progress of each Rainbow- who need to be encouraged and who needs to bn stretched a bit more. Thank you for giving your time and your talents!

Denise, Midlothian

Katy has been our unit helper for just over a year now. She has transformed how we run our unit and has taken so much pressure off the existing team. We’re so grateful for her endless positivity and energy with the girls. Katy jumped right in when she first started, running an obstacle course (and literally running it!). She supported our pack holiday and no ask was too big, can she cut out lots of little shapes, sure, can she help us calculate the sugars for our diabetic Brownie, not a problem. She has just cracked on and we don’t know what we’d do without her!

Emily, Edinburgh

Welcome to our thank you wall. We are so grateful to every one of our volunteers who gives their time to help all girls know they can do anything – thank you!

Happy Volunteers’ Week
