Girlguiding Scotland champions youth engagement with the democratic process and has two representatives on the Scottish Youth Parliament, known as MSYPs.
The Scottish Youth Parliament is the democratically elected voice of Scotland’s young people. It’s made up of 150 young people aged 14-25 from across Scotland and is a platform for young people to make their voices heard by key decision makers on issues that matter to them.
As a member of The Senior Section you can explore a huge variety of challenges including working towards valuable awards like the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the Chief Guide’s Challenge and the Queen’s Guide Award – the highest award you can work towards in guiding.

Polaris is a group of Scottish members of The Senior Section that regularly meet up to have fun, talk about hot guiding topics and make new friends. The group is open to all Girlguiding Scotland members aged 16-25.
Girlguiding Scotland has a team of more than 40 Peer Educators, trained members of The Senior Section who run sessions for their peers on issues such as body confidence and bullying. Find out more about peer education and how to join.

Are you interested in leading younger members and passing on what you’ve learned through guiding? Then you’ll need to complete an Adult Leader Qualification first or, if you’re aged between 14 and 16 years old, the Young Leader Qualification.
