Girlguiding Tweedvalley do their part to cover Scotland with the footprints of Girlguiding members!
Linsey Houghton is part of the Outdoor Team for Girlguiding Scotland, and blogs about why you should walk the length of Scotland for the Walk, Run, Fun! challenge.
With the brighter nights and warmer days, it’s the perfect time to get started with Girlguiding Scotland’s Walk, Run, Fun! Challenge which runs until September.
I’ll be putting on my walking boots soon and leading guiding members from Girlguiding Tweed Valley on a walk from Harestanes to Balerno. Our walk is suitable for all members, with Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members taking part along the way. We’ll also be taking Angus, one of the famous Senior Section mascots, on the journey!
As an Outdoor Advisor, I’d encourage individuals and units from all sections to get involved with this epic challenge – let’s cover Scotland with the footprints of Girlguiding members.
If each county gets involved with the challenge maybe we could cover the length of Scotland! To get involved you could head out to your nearest coastal route, a section of one of Scotland’s long distance trails or even a less well known route within your own local area.
Together, let’s walk the length of Scotland! Read the full Walk, Run, Fun! briefing pack for details, tips and find out how to sign up.
