Think you’re not a blogger? Think again!
Helen Dunk, Marketing and Communications Manager, on why all Girlguiding Scotland members should get the blogging bug.
OK so I’ll admit it – I’m a bit excited. This is my first blog for Girlguiding Scotland’s lovely new website, and it feels great!
Everyone here at Scottish HQ is really chuffed about having a brand new space to share our members’ experiences and ideas with those in Scottish guiding and beyond.
Today we’re launching blogging guidelines to help volunteers and members of any age share their stories and points of view.
So come on, get involved – whether it’s an issue you feel strongly about, an experience you’ve loved, a brilliant new activity idea or just the fun you had making cupcakes with your unit, we want to hear from you!
Who can blog?
Anyone! All you need is to be willing to write about your experiences, thoughts or insights for our new website. You don’t have to be particularly good at writing – just follow a few basic rules set out in our guidelines.
And there are lots of ways to blog – from compiling a list to simply sharing a video or some photos and captions. You could also tell us about a new event you’re heading along to, share your personal story of overcoming a challenge through guiding, or give us the lowdown on an exciting trip or camp.
If this sounds like an adventure you’d like to try, then get in touch with me or anyone in the Marketing and Communications Team – firstname.lastname@example.org or 0131 226 4511. You can also send us stories, blogs, pictures and more through the Tell us your stories form on this website.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
