New opportunity to promote global awareness through guiding

Are you a Leader aged 18 or over? Would you like the opportunity to work with other Guiding and Scout Leaders across Europe to stamp out poverty and promote equality and fairness?

We’re looking for five Leaders to be part of a group of global citizenship trainers through the Active Global Citizens 2015-2018 project. This is an exciting opportunity for Guide and Scout Leaders across Scotland to take part in a new three-year European-funded project with opportunities to travel, work with and learn from other Guide and Scout Leaders across Europe.

The project aims to build on and strengthen the role the global Guiding and Scouting can play in preparing future generations to help stamp out poverty, promote equality and the create a fairer and more sustainable world.

In Scotland the project is run in partnership between Girlguiding Scotland, Scouts Scotland and Scotdec Global Learning Centre in Edinburgh.

The group of Leaders will:

  • Deliver global citizenship training to other Guiding and Scout Leaders in Scotland and share learning with Leaders across Europe
  • Share information and promote the values and aims of the project across national networks
  • Take part in at least one pan-European conference or event
  • Support the development of handbooks and resources for Girlguiding Scotland and Scouts Scotland

If this sounds like something for you complete the application form and return to Holly Redfern on holly@girlguiding-scot.org.uk by the end of Monday 27 July 2015.
