Flexible guiding

We work hard to make sure everyone who wants to can join in the fun and adventure of Girlguiding Scotland.

Girlguiding Scotland is for all girls, whoever they are and wherever they’re from. We know everyone’s lives are different and that’s why we work flexibly to deliver Girlguiding sessions in lots of different ways to make sure every girl that wants to can benefit from our programme.

What is flexible guiding?

Flexible guiding can mean meeting at weekends or during school holidays, running units that meet during the school day, or in different locations like hospitals and prison visitor centres. This means that girls who are unwell or have family members in prison can take part.

We also run an independent guiding programme which helps girls to join in the fun and take part in our wide range of activities remotely.

How can I bring flexible guiding to my area?

There are lots of ways you can bring flexible guiding opportunities to girls and adult volunteers in your community and Girlguiding Scotland is here to help every step of the way.
