Get ready for the new term!
Check out our five step guide to getting prepared for another action-packed year with your unit.
1. Keep your girls coming back
Girlguiding asked leaders about great ways to put new girls at ease. Things like encouraging girls to bring a friend with them or get them to buddy up with other members were just some of their top suggestions but head over to their website for more.
If girls are unable to make it to regular meetings anymore then independent guiding and joining a Lone unit could be the answer. This way they can still join in with the fun and adventure but it fits around their life.
2. Hit the shops
From a brand new uniform to stocking up on new programme resources, get everything you could possibly need for the new term online or in from our Edinburgh or Glasgow shops.
3. Let your girls take the lead
Are your girls still deciding which badge they want to work towards in the new term right now? Don’t forget, the existing programme is still great and can be used until September 2019 but here’s everything you need to know about the new programme.
Plus, here’s a list of all the challenge badge and activity packs available. From Citizen Girl and the Sustainable Development Goals challenge to the brand new Digital Scotland Challenge badge, there’s something for every girl to get excited about.
4. Dates for your calendar
From Wander the World: Edinburgh Edition, our all-section wide game to Tartan Gig, our exclusive concert for members – there are loads of amazing events to look forward to this year. We’re always adding new events so keep checking the What’s on section over on our website to find out what’s happening near you.
5. Can you give a little or a lot of time?
We understand that people’s circumstances change all the time so if you’re a volunteer who doesn’t have much time spare then there are lots of different ways you can still be involved and #inspiregirls. Find out how volunteering can work around your schedule.
