Get ready for the new term!

Check out our five step guide to getting prepared for another action-packed year with your unit.

1. Keep your girls coming back

Lots of units see a dip in the amount of returning members after summer so Girlguiding recently asked some leaders about great ways to put new girls at ease. Things like encouraging girls to bring a friend with them or get them to buddy up with other members were just some of their top suggestions but head over to their website for more.

2. Hit the shops

From a brand new uniform to stocking up on badges, get everything you could possibly need for the new term in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow shops here.

3. Let your girls take the lead

Are your girls still deciding which badge they want to work towards in the new term right now? Don’t forget, the existing programme is still great and can be used until September 2019 but you’ll find everything you need to know about the new programme here. Plus, here’s a list of all the challenge badge and activity packs available, from Citizen Girl to the Forest Challenge, there’s something for every girl to get excited about.

4. Dates for your calendar

There are lots of fun events that our members can take part in and look forward to in the Girlguiding Scotland calendar. We’re always adding new events so keep checking the What’s on section over on our website to find out what’s happening near you.

5. Find out about flexible guiding

We understand that people’s circumstances change all the time so if you’re a volunteer who doesn’t have a lot of time spare then why not give flexible guiding a go? Find out how volunteering can work around your schedule here.

Send us your stories
