Thanks to generous funding from the Gannochy Trust, we’re able to launch a new strand of Developing Guiding Funding.
This funding aims to enable units, districts, divisions and counties to deliver activities which will promote skills development and leadership for girls, help them become active citizens and/or support and encourage them to progress to the next section. This strand of funding will also support training for adults where there are clear, direct benefits for girls.
Activities supported by the fund can be delivered in a variety of ways including through online or remote guiding sessions or outdoor meetings (in line with Girlguiding and Scottish Government policies).
Up to £500 will be available per project although there is no minimum level of award. Applicants should be confident that they will be able to spend any grant they are awarded within the next 6 months.
Guide and Ranger units should check whether they are eligible for Cashback funding before applying. If you’re unsure what funding is best to apply for have a look at this flowchart to help you figure out the next step and who to go to for support.
Step 1: Ensure that the number of active girls, girls waiting to join and unit capacity is accurate on GO
Step 2: Complete the application form carefully and in full
Step 3: For feedback on your draft application, email funding@girlguiding-scot.org.uk at least 1 week before the application deadline
Step 4: Send your application form to your commissioner and ask her to check it before sending it on to:
funding@girlguiding-scot.org.uk
The next two deadlines are 14 January and 31 March.
What is expected in return?
Levels in receipt of Gannochy Trust funding must agree to complete monitoring and evaluation forms that will help us report on the funding. Levels must also retain receipts in line with Girlguiding policies and be prepared to produce these upon request.
