Explore Loch Lomond’s islands by canoe
Duration: 5 hours Location: 10 min walk to loch side from campsite
When: All day
You’ll get the chance to explore the islands of world-famous Loch Lomond by Canadian-style canoes – these boats can be rafted together to create a stable platform and to eliminate the risk of capsize, which means they’re suitable for all. Each raft holds 4-6 people. With the help of qualified canoe coaches, you’ll paddle gently from the shore, taking in the scenery, including a beautiful backdrop of Ben Lomond, and learn about the loch and its legends as you go. Then you’ll rest your paddles on some of the loch’s most isolated beaches and experience the wonder of Loch Lomond from a totally different perspective. Take a stroll to some of the islands’ summits, learn how our ancestors survived in the wilderness, paddle your feet in the loch and enjoy a picnic on a secluded beach. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the resident wallabies on Inchconnachan Island.
