Girlguiding Ross-shire from the Highlands of Scotland have almost 600 members who love getting outdoors and having fun!
Alison Howitt MacKenzie and Louise Garden are the county commissioner of Ross-shire. Here’s what they had to say:
Ross-shire is located north of Inverness and includes areas in and around Ullapool, Dingwall, Strathpeffer, The Black Isle and further north to Tain. We have around 400 girls and 160 volunteers. We offer a mix of indoor and outdoor activities to our girls as well as giving girls the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally.
We are currently in the midst of a merger with the Highlands and Islands counties to create a new, larger county which will be sustainable and which can offer larger scale opportunities to our girls. Our aim is to empower girls and young women to develop their skills and confidence and to make a difference within their local communities.
