A. It’s taking place at Blair Drummond Safari Park in Stirling on Saturday 17 September 2022. The Girlguiding Scotland team will be there to welcome groups from 10am and will wrap things up at 3.30pm.  The park, however, is open until 5.30pm and groups are welcome to stay until closing.

A. You can find directions to the park here. Once you get to the venue you’ll be signposted to the Girlguiding Scotland marquee tent.

A. This event is open to girls, Rainbow to Ranger age (4-18 years old), girls who are on a waiting list and have an enquiry number, and volunteers keen to come along with them and join in the fun!

A. There are 4 tickets types available: £15 which will get you entry to the park and event plus some fun extras and a badge (there’s one for children, members aged 18 and under, and another for adult members aged 19+). Or the £25 tickets which will also get you a food voucher to buy lunch (or dinner) at the event, however there will be limited time slots and food options available on the day. Please note that for the £25 tickets there’s also a child and adult option available to purchase.

A. There are a selection of food stalls on site at the venue for you to choose from – you can find out more about what’s on offer here. The exact details of which food items you will be able to buy will be available nearer the time but it will cover lunch or dinner (e.g. a drink and hot food item). Please note that if you do select the food option there will be limited time slots and options available on the day.

A. Payment is due at the time of booking (or within 14 days if you are paying by cheque or BACS). Please note that bookings are not confirmed until we have received your payment.

A. As well as the whole experience, groups will be signposted to the Girlguiding Scotland hub marquee when they arrive where they’ll receive their programme for the day and a special event badge before they set off on their adventure!

A. There are lots of funds available to help units take part. If you’re just looking for travel costs, our Travel Fund can help. If you need help with travel, tickets and other resources beyond Wander the World please look at the Developing Guiding Fund or Generation CashBack.

A. Whether you’re travelling from afar or would just like to have an overnight trip away with your girls, we’ll be sharing more information about accommodation options nearby soon.

A. Not only are the amazing Blair Drummond Safari Park team going to make a fantastic programme for us to have fun with on the day, there will be a range of exciting Girlguiding stalls to check out too! We’ll share more information about this nearer the time.

A. First Aid is taken care of on site but as with any unit trip please make sure you have your own first aid kit on hand too.

A. The Covid-19 guidelines are always evolving so please make sure you follow all of the latest Scottish Government and park guidance on this on the day. Please note that the event takes place entirely outside and going inside at any point is completely optional.

• This event is open only to current members of Girlguiding or those who are on a waiting list and have an enquiry number.
• Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis and the event may sell out prior to the booking deadline.
• Payment is required in full at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
• Your booking is not confirmed until we have received the full fee – if paying by BACS or cheque, payment must be received within 14 days of booking or your tickets will be cancelled. On this occasion, anyone who had issues with the booking system and ended up with too many tickets, they can request that the extras be cancelled if the request is received within 14 days of booking.
• If there are any issues with the payment received (for example, the amount differs from the amount expected for the number of places booked, a cheque is not dated or signed, a cheque is returned by the bank unpaid, etc.) Girlguiding Scotland reserves the right to cancel the booking and return the payment minus any administrative fee incurred.
• The £15 ticket price is for entry to Blair Drummond Safari Park and an event badge. The £25 ticket price is for entry to Blair Drummond Safari Park, an event badge, animal ears and a food voucher which will cover one meal only (e.g. a drink and hot food item). Ticket holders are responsible for arranging their own travel, snacks, packed lunches, etc.
• Adult and girl tickets are the same price, but we need accurate numbers of each. If any of your tickets change from girl to adult or vice versa, you must let Rachel@girlguiding-scot.org.uk know.
• If you reallocate any of your tickets to another group, you must let Rachel@girlguiding-scot.org.uk know so that the numbers held at Girlguiding Scotland can be updated. This is so that we can make up packs with the right number of badges, etc. and if you have not informed us then Girlguiding Scotland cannot be held responsible for groups receiving the wrong number of items.
• For those who have extra tickets they cannot reallocate in their local area, or those who need more tickets and cannot source them locally, please contact Rachel@girlguiding-scot.org.uk confirming you are happy for your email address to be shared with other groups to facilitate the ticket exchange. Girlguiding Scotland will hold a list of those looking for tickets and those with extra tickets to pass on and will put groups in touch to trade tickets, but will not take any responsibility for the exchange of money between groups or any issues arising.
• Tickets cannot be upgraded to include the food voucher after booking, nor can tickets including the food voucher be downgraded.
• If you cancel your tickets after paying or do not attend the event, you will not receive your non-refundable ticket fee back.
• Ticket holders are responsible for ensuring they meet all the usual requirements for a Girlguiding trip – consent forms, home contact, maintaining correct ratios, risk assessment, etc.
• Participants will be required to follow any Covid-19 guidance in place at the time of the event, including any specific guidance issued by Blair Drummond Safari Park.
• The Covid-19 situation will be monitored closely to ensure the right balance between the running of the event and the current situation, and the event may be cancelled at short notice. Please be aware that Girlguiding Scotland are unable to cover financial losses for equipment, transport etc.
• If for any reason Girlguiding Scotland has to cancel the event, we will rearrange the date wherever possible. Where it is not possible to rearrange the date, you will receive a full refund.
• Girlguiding Scotland reserves the right to retain any profit that may be accrued from this event for the benefit of its membership.
