ICE 2021 – Stage 1

Whether you’re a young member keen to start your ICE adventure or you’d like to volunteer and help out, you’ve come to the right place!

22-24 January 2021 3 Stages, first stage is taking place virtually

ICE, which stands for International Community Experience, is an amazing three stage project open to girls age 11-13. Sign up for Stage 1 today!

This project offers the opportunity for personal development through community action linked with international experiences. It is designed to give Guides the opportunity to think about their community, increase their global awareness, take part in community action work, and provides a gentle introduction to international adventures. It brings Guides together from all over Scotland to have fun while doing something for others.

Changes to Stage 1

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic ICE Stage 1 will take place online from the comfort of your own home! Stage 1 is designed to introduce Guides to community action and raise international awareness. You will spend time during this stage investigating your local community, finding out about community projects, and exploring international cultures! Guides will receive an activity pack to work on independently, with Zoom sessions during the weekend of 22- 24 January 2021.

Stage 2 is due to take place from 7-9 May 2021 (more information about Stage 2 will be provided in January 2021) and Stage 3 dates are still yet to be confirmed. Please note, dates and locations may be subject to change in line with local and national Covid-19 restrictions. Download this info sheet to find out more!

Who Can Take Part?

Guides aged 11-13 can apply, they have to be members of Girlguiding Scotland! All participants must be at least 11 at the time of Stage 1, and no older than 13 on completion of Stage 3. Members must take part in Stage 1 to be eligible for Stage 2 and 3, but do not have to commit to all three stages up front – girls can choose how many stages they are comfortable taking part in.
