How will you be celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday?

Her Majesty the Queen celebrates her 90th birthday this year, the birthday celebrations will be one of the highlights of 2016 and there are many exciting ways that you can get involved with the celebrations!

The Queen’s birthday celebrations will be a chance for us to do what we do best in guiding – have lots of fun and make a positive difference.

Here’s just a few ways that you can get involved…

Patron’s Lunch

The Patron’s Lunch – a celebration involving over 600 charities proud to have The Queen as their patron.

The event, taking place over the weekend of 10 – 12 June, aims to inspire thousands of people across the UK to join together in their communities and host street parties.

These fun-filled gatherings will be a chance to celebrate and support the charities close to The Queen’s heart.

A group of Leaders and young members from Scotland, and other Countries and Regions will be among those joining in the fun at this event in London.

Throw your own street party

If you’d like to take part in your unit, Division or District, you can find practical support and advice along with Government guidance on how to hold your own street party on The Patron’s Lunch website.

Lighting of Beacons

On 21 April, a traditional lighting ceremony of Beacons will happen across the UK – on top of mountains, in county parks and along the beaches surrounding our shores.
