Rainbow Roundabout
I am a Rainbow. I like playing and drawing things with felt tips best. I like the leader, she helps us and makes us laugh.
We go on days out and have time to share things and talk with other Rainbows. We follow the Rainbow Jigsaw to Look, Learn, Laugh, Love.
We listen to stories and learn to help and be kind to people.
I like my Rainbow uniform and all the other Rainbow girls.

Brownie Adventure
I look forward to going to the Brownies on a Thursday night. I like to play games with the other Brownies (bear and the honey pot, squirrels in trees).
I like singing songs too - my favourite is Brownie Bells. My mum and other mums come to listen to us sing at our services. I like singing to everyone. Brown Owl teaches us different songs to sing.
We make things for special days, like Mother's Day and Christmas and pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. Claire and Gillian help me to make things. I really enjoy the Brownies, it makes me happy.

'Go For It' in Guides
What I enjoyed most about being a Guide last year was going to Netherurd House campsite for the weekend. We camped under canvas and each of our Patrols slept in separate tents.
The thing I enjoyed most was going on walks to look for wood to make the fire for our meals.
I love being a Guide because I get to do things that I wouldn't normally get the chance to do, like leadership weekends, camping and lots of other activities.
Another thing we did last year was to go to the GECC for Thinking Day. Guides from all over the UK came for the concert. It was great fun. There were lots of songs and dances and everyone enjoyed themselves. There were a lot of things you could buy to remind yourself of the day, like shortbread and pens.
I think the new programme is great and the uniform is really nice. The G-File is a great way to record all the things you do with Guides. I think it will attract lots of girls to join Guides and I am looking forward to doing lots more activities soon.

I love being a Guide because I get to take part in lots of fun activities like going camping and church parades. The new programme is great and really fun. I also like the new parts of the uniform, it gives us greater choice in what we wear.
My Patrol started the Healthy Eating 'Go For It' which is part of the new programme. We all really enjoy it and love the cooking part. We have made a few things from it but the one we remember most is when we made Gazpacho. We brought the ingredients to the meeting and made it there. We loved making it but it was disgusting! We had a great laugh but did not think we would do it again.
The most memorable thing I have done with the Guides in the last year was going on a Patrol Leaders weekend to Aberfoyle and staying in a Guider's house. There we learned new skills in crafts and looked at the new programme. I really enjoyed this because we were able to take those skills back to our Patrols.
I look forward to carrying on with the programme...it is excellent.

Look Wider with the Senior Section
In Senior Section there are many different programmes you can follow, the one I started on was look wider where I gained by Chief Guide challenge award. This is very good because you can do whatever activities you wish as long as it fits into one of the eight octants in the programme e.g. creativity, fit for life, International etc. I am a member of the local Ranger unit and a Young Leader with a local Rainbow unit.
I love camping with Senior Section because we get to do more exciting activities than the guides. When we go to County Camp we are the Service Team, so we help out with running the camp and the guides can ask us for help with anything they don't want to ask the Guiders.
The most memorable thing I have done with the Senior Section is go to Switzerland last summer where we visited 'Our Chalet' in Adelboden. Also going to Arran last month which was part of my Queens Guide Award which I am currently working on.
Other opportunities as a Senior Section member:-
- Look Wider
- Queens Guide Award
- Duke of Edinburgh
- Leadership Qualification
- Senior Section Camp Permit
- Polaris
- In4mers
- Gold Project
- Member of Scout & Guide clubs
