Tina is our lead volunteer for communications, supporting our network of PR volunteers to share the excitement of Scottish guiding through the media, events and online.
An engineer by trade, and a mum, Tina has been involved in guiding since she was a Brownie on the Isle of Arran and is still proud of having achieved her Queen’s Guide award.
Since then she’s enjoyed a variety of roles from leading guiding units to heading up guiding in West Lanarkshire as a county commissioner. She currently leads a Guide unit in Strathaven.
“Girlguiding gives you confidence and leadership skills that come in handy in all areas of your life – as well as the chance to enjoy pretending you’re 12-years-old again!”
A keen marathon and ultra-marathon runner, Tina is not afraid of challenges.
“One of my marathons was on the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard.
“It was a stunning snowy location, but slightly disconcerting to have to watch out for polar bears along the way!”
