Gail is one of six regional representatives who sit on our Scottish Executive who represents Lothian and Borders.
Gail has been a member of Girlguiding Scotland for over 15 years. Starting of as a Brownie, Gail has achieved many things in guiding including being the first Guide in Inverness-shire to receive the BP award. After taking a break from guiding, Gail continued to take on new challenges including setting up a local depot shop and most recently becoming County Commissioner for Tweed Valley.
Gail shares what her guiding highlights are:
“It’s amazing to be able to give girls new experiences like our recent trip to Switzerland which was a trip of a lifetime! The highlight of the trip was seeing one of the girls overcoming her fear of water to try white water rafting and finishing the rafting with a huge smile on her face!
I have many fond memories from Switzerland, including singing ‘On My Honour’ at a busy tourist attraction as the Swiss flag was raised. This brought a tear to more than just my eye.”
Gail says that girls can do anything:
“Guiding has taught me that no matter your age or ability you can do anything as long as you try your very best.”
