Kirsty leads on money and business matters at Girlguiding Scotland. She also runs our shops and online store, helping to generate income as well as oversee the spending of it! Kirsty supports our members with advice on tricky property, governance and charity matters too.
A former partner in an accounting practice, Kirsty first mixed her professional skills with her passion for Girlguiding as a financial adviser for Europe with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), going on to become chair of the organisation’s board.
At WAGGGS I saw first-hand the transformational change that Girlguiding has on girls’ lives, especially in parts of the world where they face enormous economic barriers and challenges in getting their voices heard.
Closer to home, selling gifts and mementoes at Girlguiding events can be a bit like the first day of the sales – swarms of girls, frenzied activity and lots of smiley faces on both sides of the counter!
