Giving girls a voice in democracy

Girlguiding Scotland is committed to giving girls and young women a voice in the democratic process.

Girls holding megaphone

Our  two representatives on the Scottish Youth Parliament, known as MSYPs, champion the issues facing girls and young women across Scotland.

Girlguiding Scotland encouraged all young women to make their voice heard in the independence referendum, and in June 2014 co-hosted a debate with the Scottish Youth Parliament where young women could explore the issues further.

We’re running a by-election to elect a new MSYP! If you’re aged 14-25 and keen to get involved then find out more here.
