Girlguiding South Lanarkshire has more than 2,750 members in 138 units throughout the area. Altogether there are 36 Rainbow units, 56 Brownie units, 35 Guide units and 12 Senior Section/Ranger there. South Lanarkshire covers a wide areas including Biggar and Symington, Douglas, Lesmahagow, Uddingston, Viewpark, Blantyre, Bothwell, Blackwood, Stonehouse, Carluke, Law, Lanark, Wishaw, Motherwell and Hamilton.
Our current County Commissioners are Sandra Stewart and Susan Gibson and their assistants are Lynn Weir and Pamela Aitken with Jean Fraser continuing her role as Assistant County Commissioner.
There have been several other new appointments in South Lanarkshire including Avril Jamieson taking on the role of camp adviser, Cara Stewart is now their County PRA, Anna Lyon is our Archivist, Audrey Hulme is now their additional needs adviser and Angela Campbell is now their arts adviser.
They have their own Brownie house and campsite and outdoor shelter at Gowanpark, in Crossford. Everyone is welcome to come and stay, for a weekend, or even just a day visit.
Girlguiding South Lanarkshire encourage girls to take on new challenges and adventures such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and they have an amazing team of leaders there to help support the girls through everything.
