Leather EngravingLeather Engraving

Leather Engraving was one of the many activities that were offered in the Girlguiding activity tent at the Scottish Wildlife & Countryside Fair at Vane Farm in August. The tent also provided activities such as miniature raft building and leaf rubbing. Over the weekend thousands of people attended the event and Girlguding was able to recruit a few leaders as well as give parents a well needed break on a hot sunny day.

Taking part in a creative Arts or Crafts activity helps participants learn to play co-operatively, take turns, share resources as well as learning to listen to and follow instructions. It also helps develop problem solving skills and the imagination.

"There was a big queue at the engraving table. I really like it, though I had to concentrate very hard. I put my name on it and gave it to my daddy as a present for his birthday."
