Cultural Events
The "Brownie World Tour" gave hundreds of Brownies in Renfrewshire the opportunity to learn about the culture, games and crafts of different countries.
The girls worked in groups and experienced imaginary travel to Italy, America, Australia, India, China and Russia. They had the chance to re-create the Leaning Tower of Pisa, paint their faces, make Indian head-dresses, boomerangs, Native American jewellery, Russian Dolls, play skittles and paint Chinese plates.
Learning through play, singing and craft is an excellent way of stimulating the imagination and encouraging the girls to value and respect the diversities of other cultures.
Other events included:
- Canadian Party in Caithness
- French Night in Clackmannanshire
- Ghana Night in Edinburgh
- Hawaiian Beach party in Moray
- Indian Night in Banff and Buchan

"The Brownie World Tour was great. We visited lots of countries and learned where different games and crafts came from. When I am older I would like to visit some of the countries we learned about. I really liked making the Russian Dolls and would like to see the real ones."
