Girlguiding Scotland members enjoy movie magic
Girlguiding Scotland members from all over the country enjoyed an exclusive screening of Disney’s new Beauty and the Beast film this Saturday (March 18).
Abbi, 13, of the Tweedbank Guides was among the 600 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members from Tweed Valley to pack out their local cinema this Saturday. And across the UK more than 42,000 Girlguiding members headed to the cinema to see the live-action adaptation of this classic fairy tale!
Abbi gives this review:
“I loved going to see Beauty and Beast in the cinema with my Guide unit. I’d wanted to see the film ever since the trailer first came out so getting to go to an exclusive screening just for us was amazing.
My sister came too – she loves Belle and she’s always dressing up with her big puffy dress on. It was really fun to see her and her Rainbow friends get so excited and giggly before the film.
The characters like the Madame de la Grande Bouche (the wardrobe) and the other furniture were hilarious. Madame de la Grande gives everyone she meets a makeover and new dresses and outfits that end up making them look hideous.
I really liked Belle because she’s a smart, strong girl like me. My favourite part in this movie was when Belle shut the door on Gaston when he asks her to marry him – rejection!
But my least favourite part was when Belle met the Beast for the first time, after he traps her father Maurice in a cage. The creepy way the beast was introduced made me gasp!
As well seeing a great film, we got to eat lots of popcorn and treats too! It was a really good day out!”
