Help us find our next Chief Commissioner
We are beginning the search for Girlguiding Scotland’s next Chief Commissioner.
The Chief Commissioner is our most senior volunteer in Scotland – supporting volunteers across the country to offer amazing opportunities and experiences to girls and young women.
As Chief Commissioner you will be responsible for:
- Ongoing development of guiding plans and delivery across Scotland
- Helping to ensure strong links between national and local guiding
- Provide effective leadership to volunteers and paid staff
- Overall governance of Girlguiding Scotland which has an annual income of around £2m and almost 60,000 members
In return you’ll help to shape the future of Girlguiding Scotland and inspire girls and volunteers across the country. As Chief Commissioner you’ll be supported by a strong team of national advisers and work closely with our Chief Executive Denise King.

You must also provide at least two nominations to support your application. It is expected that at least one of the nominations is from someone with experience of guiding at County level. Please download our nomination form and arrange for these to be completed and returned to Alison Pringle.
