Lockerbie Guides donate to Step in My Shoes!
Girlguiding Scotland members have been doing their best to help reach our huge target of 3000 pairs of shoes, which will provide practical help to refugees.
So far, we have held two drop off days and are over 70% towards our target! The days have seen members travelling from all over Scotland to kindly donate their shoes. Each pair has a personal message on them written by girls, and they will soon be sent to Refugees in Greece, Lebanon and Syria.
2nd Lockerbie Guides donated over 50 pairs of shoes at our latest drop off day. Guide Leader, Maureen said:
“This term we’ve been working on our Peace Go For It. When I spotted that Girlguiding Scotland were running this campaign – I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for the girls to get involved and put into practice what they’d learned by working on the Go For It!”
Eden, Rebecca and Molly from 2nd Lockerbie Guides said:
“I am happy that our shoes are going to good use. We were not using them but we hope that someone else will. It is nice to know that they are going all the way to another country to make a positive difference.
“Everyone from Guides brought a pair so we are all happy knowing we have helped someone else”
We’d really like your help to reach our target of collecting 3000 pairs of shoes! Read here to find out how you can get involved and for information on the next drop off day.
