I rate this interview as**** (fascinating, great)

"I was already aware of Mary Contini because of her Easy Peasy cookbooks for children. I could relate to her because I too enjoy cooking and do a lot of it with my Mum. Mary has mixed her Italian heritage and her Scottish culture and seems to be very proud of both. She clearly believes in strong family links and her family are very important to her.
She speaks about her grandmother and her mother and recognises their influence on her.

Her views about healthy eating are very modern and she is in a strong position to help get that message over to children and young people. I think she understands young people and can relate to them easily. Mary was asked to describe Valvona and Crolla and describes it, among other things, as fun and surprising. I think that is a good way to describe the shop and it says a lot about Mary and the others involved in running the business.

Mary's menu for a meal sounds delicious and her ingredients for the hamper came as a bit of a surprise to me. Although, I'm sure she could create delicious meals off the top of her head. She would certainly be a great cook for camp!

Her thoughts about Guiding were a surprise to me. I agree that Guiding makes girls self sufficient and independent but I wasn't sure if she was suggesting that Guiding should open the doors to boys!"
