Shereen Nanjiani - Journalist and Broadcaster
Shereen is most well known as a presenter on 'Scotland Today'. She was a Brownie and grew up in Elderslie, Renfrewshire."Drink plenty of water. Good for health in that it gets rid of the toxins in your body which helps digestion."
Scotland and being Scottish...
A café called Hummingbird in Hyndland Street in Glasgow. It has lovely homemade cakes. It's on the street where I had my first flat so it brings back memories to sit there.
I love fish and seafood so I'd have to say any meal I've had at Gamba, a fish restaurant in Glasgow. It's my favourite place (preferably if someone else is paying as it's expensive!) and I've never had a bad meal there.
The Dunblane tragedy when sixteen children were shot dead in a school gym. I was as horrified as everyone else but had to put my emotions on hold to tell the story on TV. It's the hardest story I've ever had to report on.
My advice would be get as much experience as you can in journalism and be prepared to work for
nothing to get it. That's how I started. To be a good reporter you have to have the ability
to tell a story simply and clearly.
To be a presenter you have to be able to remain calm and authoritative even when there's absolute
chaos going on in the background.

If you could interview any person in the world who would it be? What question would you love to ask?
I think every journalist would say the same thing - Nelson Mandela. I may be too overawed to think of a question though! I'd just like to talk to him about his time in prison and the struggles and immense hardship he's faced throughout his life.
I'd ask him how he can find it in himself to forgive those who perpetuated apartheid.
The uniform!! It's much more casual now, not really a "uniform" at all. The old one was a nightmare to iron.
Every girl says their Mum and she has been one of my major influences. But there are many more, from the English teacher who encouraged me to follow the path I'm following now, to my girlfriends who've been my sounding board and shoulder to cry on over the years.
I wouldn't say I have a talent for it but I'm learning Ashtanga Yoga at the moment and loving it. I'm not quite as good as Madonna but I'm getting a lot out of it and I find it a great way to calm down after a stressful day.
I love Franz Ferdinand and I'm listening to The Killers a lot too.
Drink plenty of water. Good for health in that it gets rid of the toxins in your body which helps digestion. Good for beauty in that the more hydrated you are the better your skin looks. I try to drink two litres a day.
