Catriona Mathews is a top International professional golfer, she was brought up in North Berwick in East Lothian.

"I have travelled to every continent in the world, experienced many different cultures that I would never have otherwise been able to do."

On being Scottish...

Who do you think is a great ambassador for Scottish sport?

I'd like to hope that I am a great ambassador for Scottish sport!! I have competed all over the world and it gives me goose-bumps when I am announced "from Scotland" on the first tee. I currently represent www.visitscotland.com as one of their golf ambassadors.

What are your top three golf courses in Scotland?

My top three would be
1. St Andrews - because of the history.
2. Turnberry - because of the spectacular views.
3. Gleneagles - because I won my first professional event there.

What is your proudest moment as a Scot?

My proudest moment as a Scot was raising the Scottish flag to "Flower of Scotland" at the opening ceremony of the Solheim Cup.

Career…

What is your greatest achievement?

It was being a part of the winning team at the Solheim Cup 2003 in Sweden, and holing the putt that clinched the match.

What opportunities has being a golfer given you that you wouldn't have had otherwise?

I have travelled to every continent in the world, experienced many different cultures that I would never have otherwise been able to do. I have made a good living against the best golfers in the world at the same time.

What ambition do you still want to fulfil?

I would love to win the US Women's Open.

Being a woman…

Which female sportsperson do you most admire?

I admire Steffi Graff because of her drive and ambition and being a true champion. She also seems to have the ability to combine all that with being a wife and a mother also.

What's important to her...

What could always be found in your fridge?

You can always find some Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate in my fridge!!

If you could win a million pounds for a charity of your choice - which one would it be?

I would give it to Susan G Komen's charity for Breast Cancer because it is a cause close to my heart. It is also one of the charities that the Ladies Professional Golf Association support.
