Introduction

Hi, I'm Lindsay and I have been involved in Guiding in Caithness for 14 years. I have previously been a Guide, Ranger Guide, Young Leader, Guide Guider and Young Leader Adviser. March 2006 I accepted the appointment of County Commissioner , I look forward to developing and supporting Guiding in Caithness over the next five years.
There is a fantastic and enthusiastic County team here who make it possible for girls to participate in Guiding, providing new and exciting opportunities and experiences. If you would like to become part of this team and make a positive contribution to Guiding please email me.
About Us

2nd Wick Brownies (left) held a sponsored silence and raised £660 which was split between Caithness Asthma Society and Caithness Early Years Autism Centre. The Brownies played games and read books and were very quiet for one hour.
The photo on the right shows the Guides with the Caithness chair at Girlguiding Scottish Headquarters. Guides in Caithness like to travel, this year they have been to Edinburgh , visited Scottish Parliament. Jamie Stone MSP visited the Guides at their unit meeting before their trip. Jamie Stone is one of Girlguiding Caithness Ambassadors alongwith John Thurso MP.
Caithness Adult Leaders smile in all weather! Six Leaders 'Surprised Themselves' by walking the West Highland Way whilst raising £2012 for Guide Hall in Thurso and RNLI.
We are looking for...

Adult Leaders to support existing units and to open new units to reduce existing waiting lists. This will provide opportunities for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides to experience Girlguiding in Caithness to its full extent.
Quote from one of our members:
"Since I have been a volunteer at the Guides I have surprised myself at how much I am enjoying it every week. I have also learnt a lot of different things, e.g. craft making, yoga, and kick boxing. My friends and family are also pleasantly surprised when I talk about the Guides and the different activities we do together".
Sharon Steven, Unit Helper at a Guide Unit.

Ambassadors
We are very lucky to have both the MP and MSP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross as our Ambassadors, namely John Thurso MP and Jamie Stone MSP. Our County President is Margaret, Viscountess Thurso and having her son as one of our Ambassadors reinforces the family spirit of Guiding.
