Girlguiding Scotland members speak out on increasing diversity in Parliament
Ten young Girlguiding Scotland members got the chance to speak out at a House of Lords debate on Friday 4 December 2015.
They joined 70 members of Girlguiding from around the UK to speak out on increasing diversity in Parliament.
Katie Horsburgh, a Girlguiding Scotland member from Edinburgh and a Girlguiding Advocate, attended the debate and was among just six members aged 17 – 25 who made a special speech to the Chamber before the floor was opened up to other contributions. Katie has blogged about why we should make diversity in Parliament happen now. Read Katie’s blog here.
Lauren McKie, a Senior Section member from Carluke, has written about what is was like speaking about diversity to other members of The Senior Section and members of the British Humanist Association, Humanist Society Scotland, Three Faiths Forum and the English-Speaking Union.
