Make some money for your Unit!
Do you know that your local Scottish Guide Shop can provide Guiding Uniform, resources and gifts to you for a ‘Sale or Return’ shop?
It’s the perfect way to show uniform, badges, resources and gifts to girls and parents at your local unit meeting. Or if your are planning an event, training day or County meeting you can use this service to provide a stall of goods for sale. Your Unit, District, Division or County will receive 10% of the value of the sales from your ‘Sale or Return’.
Just call or pop into your local shop (based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee ) and ask to speak to the Shop Manager about a 'Sale or Return' shop.
What to sell?
The Shop Manager will be able to help you decide on the right products and quantities of items for your occasion. Please give the Shop at least 4 weeks advance notice of your event so that we have all the necessary goods in stock. The shop may need to adjust the original order as we monitor our shop’s stock holding so that we are not left with a large amount of stock that we cannot sell.
10% Discount
When returning the unsold goods, the money taken from the sold goods should be handed in to the shop. This can be done in cash or by Cheque. Please make cheques payable to ‘Girlguiding Scotland’. The shop will then calculate the 10% discount and arrange for a cheque to be made out to either the Guider or the relevant unit/district/division/county.
Collection
The goods are collected directly from the shop a maximum of 5 days in advance. (The Edinburgh Shop can arrange for goods to be posted to you via their mail order service.)
Returning Unsold Goods
We ask that any unsold goods be returned to the shop that supplied them within a maximum of 5 days after the event.
Minimum Order £25.00
This is the lowest value of goods that can be obtained through Sale or Return.
Postage Costs
Any postage costs incurred during this process are paid for by the unit/district/division/county.
