Get up to speed with the new A Safe Space training at our free workshops for all commissioners, Safe Space advisers and now leaders too!
As part of their A Safe Space roll out plan, Girlguiding Scotland are offering four training sessions for county, district, and division commissioners (including assistant and depute commissioners), Safe Space advisers and leaders. These days will cover Levels 3 and 4 and there will be 100 places available each day.
The training days are as follows:
- 09.45 am – 3.30pm, Saturday 1 September – Spectrum Centre, Inverness IV1 1LS
- 10.15-am – 4pm, Saturday 22 September – City of Edinburgh Methodist Church, Edinburgh, EH8 9BX
Tea/coffee and lunch will be provided. Uniform should be worn.
All participants must have completed A Safe Space Levels 1 and 2. This can be done by attending a face to face training or by completing Level 1 and 2 e-learning modules and then completing a Level 2 worksheet and having a follow up conversation with a commissioner or A Safe Space trainer. If you completed the old Safe Space training within the last 3 years, this covers Level 1 and 2 until your renewal date.
For Level 3, participants should also complete the Level 3 e-learning module, ideally before they attend the training day. Level 3 will only be accredited to your GO record when you have completed both the face to face training and the e-learning module.
These trainings are free of charge to attend. Please liaise with your county if you require assistance with travel costs. If you require further support with travel costs you may be eligible for funding from Girlguiding Scotland, please contact Laura Wright to discuss further.
