Do you want to start your ICE adventure in January 2020? Then sign up for Stage 1 today and come join us in Inverness next year!
ICE, which stands for International Community Experience, is an amazing three stage project open to girls age 11-13 which brings young members together from all over Scotland to have fun while doing something for others.
The project is designed to give girls the opportunity to think about their community, increase their global awareness, take part in community action work as well as an introduction to international adventures. Girls who have taken part in the past have done everything from sorting donated clothes at a refugee crisis centre and planting trees to climbing, African drumming and so much more!
Who Can Take Part?
Guides can come along as a group or on their own (leaders don’t need to accompany their girls). They don’t need any previous camping experience but do need to come prepared to do a bit of work along with the fun activities.
Guides will be away from home for a few nights during each stage, so we’d encourage parents/carers to have a chat with girls about this and their expectations before signing up. Girls must be at least 11 at the time of Stage 1, and no older than 13 on completion of Stage 3. Guides must take part in Stage 1 to be eligible for Stage 2 and 3, but do not have to commit to all three stages up front – they can choose how many stages they are comfortable taking part in.
How do I apply?
Download the application form, make sure your Guide leader has signed it then send it back along with your deposit by 9am on 9 December 2019.
Please note there are 80 spaces available for ICE 2020 and they will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Stage 2 is due to take place from 4-7 April 2020 (more information about this stage will be available at the Stage 1 weekend) and Stage 3, the international element of ICE, is due to take place in October 2020. Download this info sheet to find out more!
