ICE, which stands for International Community Experience, is an amazing three stage project open to girls age 11-13 which brings young members together from all over Scotland to have fun while doing something for others.

The project is designed to give girls the opportunity to think about their community, increase their global awareness, take part in community action work as well as an introduction to international adventures. Girls can come along as individuals or in groups, there’s no limit to the number of girls that can come from a unit and they don’t need any previous camping experience.

Girls who have taken part in the past have done everything from sorting donated clothes at a refugee crisis centre and planting trees to climbing, African drumming and so much more!

Get ready for Stage 1

It costs £75 per person to take part and girls will arrive on Friday night at Stirling Youth Hostel from 7-7.30pm for an evening meal served at 7.40pm. Girls will have to arrange their own travel to and from Stirling and will finish at 1pm on Sunday where there will be a briefing meeting for everyone about arrangements for Stages 2 and 3 and be ready to depart at around 2pm.

Please note that all participants must take part in Stage 1 to be eligible for Stage 2 and 3 but do not have to commit to all three stages up front as girls can choose how many stages they’re comfortable taking part in. They also must be at least 11-years-old at time of Stage 1 and no older than 13-years-old on completion of Stage 3. Look out for more information on Stage 2 and 3 coming soon!
