2200 Brownies celebrated Girlguiding Scotland’s Centenary with a Brownie ‘Express’ Carnival at Scone Palace, Perth, on 12 and 13 June.
The Brownies spent the day taking part in a wide range of fun and energetic activities, including bouncy castles with a variety of themes, four Fun Zones with clowns, jugglers, magicians, fire performers and stilt walkers, a bouncy assault course and a ‘Big Top Show’ with an illusionist in the Inflatable Dome.
In addition, the girls could enjoy a wide variety of ‘side shows’, including Balloon Modelling, Circus Skills Workshop, Magic Show and a Puppet Show.
Nadja, a Brownie from Orkney, said;
“The ‘Twister Castle’ was great fun, I have never seen a Bouncy Castle like this before and I beat my Young Leader!!”
Lyn Honnan, Brownie Leader and volunteer organiser of the event said;
“The Core Team had the concept to bring as many Brownies together as possible from the four corners of Scotland for a fun-filled and exciting day. All the girls had a brilliant time and I think the Leaders enjoyed the event as much as the Brownies with the relaxed environment we achieved. The Brownie Express Carnival was an excellent way to celebrate the Centenary and create that ‘Mountain Top Moment’ for our members.”
